The Louisiana Women's Riding Retreats were founded by Louisiana Equine Council Board Member Robbin Rosalis.  We are very proud!  The first retreat took place in the spring of 2022 and sold out literally within two hours. It was shocking.  Another one was quickly scheduled a few weeks later to accommodate the huge interest.    These retreats have proven a real need for equestrian experiences tailored to females as they continue to be  sold out well in advance.  It is really no surprise when  you consider that 90% of horse ownership in the USA and Great Britain are females.   What is surprising and truly astonishing in view of those statistics is that most equestrian equipment and gear is tailored towards men as Robbin explains in the video below.   

 

The Louisiana Women's Riding Retreats have become a popular state equestrian bi-annual event and are now scheduled in the spring and fall.  They are currently held at Rustic Sky Campground in Melder, Louisiana which sits on the edge of Kistatchie National Forest. The retreats consist of fun events, educational events, trail riding, great food, dancing, and camaraderie.  The schedule is ever evolving and changing.
